We specialize in creating parts with our DIMENSION FUSED
DEPOSITION MODELING 3D PRINTER.
What is FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING?
Based on the patented Stratasys FDM® process, Dimension builds functional 3D models from the bottom
up, one layer at a time of with tough, durable ABS plastic.
STL files are imported into Catalyst® software which
automatically slices and orients the parts and creates any necessary support structures. The software automatically plots
a precise deposition path for Dimension to follow. ABS plastic is fed into an extrusion head, heated to a semi-liquid state
and accurately deposited in layers as fine as 0.010-inch (0.254 mm) thick. After completion of the build, support structures
are simply removed.
Basically, instead of using a milling machine or lathe to remove
material to create a part or prototype, we are adding material in fine layers in order to create any shape we need.
This process has numerous advantages. We are not limited to mere geometric shapes. We can produce just about any conceivable
shape; organic shapes, spheres, angles, arcs, rectangle, square etc, or any combination of these shapes at one time. This
would be very difficult using conventional methods of machining.
You are left with a part
that is clean and ready to use. You will have a part in your hand, which until now was just a concept or dream. You can put
it to work immediately. If you need, the ABS parts can be sanded, milled, drilled, tapped, painted and even electro-plated.
We can also print parts in the following colors: white, red, blue, green, gray, yellow and black. Custom colors may be ordered,
but additional lead time will be required.
